After years of experience in teaching and training, Maggie stepped into a administrative role where she designed a personalized curriculum for the comprehensive needs of an ORR site. Her passion for giving a voice to this demographic of children through education has informed all developmental stages of her proprietary curriculum for One Journey Together, LLC.

Laura’s work as an educator has included advising/counseling, coaching, teaching and training, researching, and mentoring. Most recently she worked as Educational Program Coordinator for an ORR facility in North Carolina. For almost 20 years, she has worked to support educational access for youth from immigrant families, including those who do not have permanent legal status. As a counselor and educator, she maintains her focus on social-emotional learning and trauma-informed practices.

Tim’s experience working with ORR facilities has given him extensive insight into the governmental requirements surrounding education of Unaccompanied Minors and the tools needed for compliance. As Head of School, he learned effective methods for development and implementation of resources to accomplish goals specific to the schools needs. His research on Problem-based learning creates a solid base for our highly engaging curriculum.Â

As Program Manager and Department Head, Rebecca has used her years of experience teaching in secondary and post-secondary classes to develop training that cultivates excellent teaching strategies in others. She has created and facilitated training in curriculum development, curriculum implementation, teaching strategies, and community engagement in a variety of settings. Her passion for immigrants and unaccompanied minors permeates both her personal and professional life.
